Our Gold Coast Family Mediation Services are designed to help families negotiate new futures, together. This requires highly trained practitioners, who are passionate about helping separating parents make sustainable co-parenting arrangements, to gently guide parties through the mediation process. MEDE8 Resolutions provides independent, impartial, facilitative mediation services to families on the Gold Coast.

About Marie Kelly – Principal

I am passionate about reducing stress and anxiety associated with the breakdown of family relationships. As a NMAS Accredited Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) Practitioner, I genuinely believe the Family Law Courts are the last place families should find themselves in after separation.

The breakdown of the family unit will bring change, uncertainty and ultimately result in the creation of a new family dynamic. As parents, you will forever be connected to your former partner through your children. It is so important for children to continue to see ‘Mum and Dad’ as their family, despite living in separate households. This can best be achieved where parents engage with each other respectfully and are able to collaborate together to ensure successful co-parenting of their children going forward. 

Not surprisingly, research continues to show that when parents are able to work together to come to mutually agreeable resolutions on parenting issues these agreements are more sustainable into the future.  Continued conflict between parents is believed to be more damaging to children in the long term than the initial separation and breakdown of the family unit.  

MEDE8 Resolutions provides a safe, friendly and supportive pathway for families going through separation and divorce. My aim is to support and assist parents to navigate this stage of their lives with dignity and respect.

 

Qualifications: 

Master of Laws (Dispute Resolution), Bond University;
Master of Applied Law (Family Law), College of Law, (Brisbane);
Accredited Mediator (NMAS);
Registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner;
Trained in: Parenting Coordination; Elder Mediation; Collaborative Family Law and Pet Custody.
